Mário Lopes

Mario Lopes.jpg

Mário Lopes graduated in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, Italy, in 2005, where he began since then, a research course on sculptural techniques and concepts. He worked with several internationally renowned artists and designers, and in 2012 he took a Master's Degree in Sculpture in Japan, developing a line of work based on the expansion, growth and development in Nature through an abstract concept. He develops work in the most varied materials, having stone as a base, but also explores wood, cork, paper and metals.

With objects as a starting point we will build forms on which we will apply photographic images. In this way we will build three-dimensional objects with applied photographic images, creating "photographic sculptures". This process involves our curiosity and offers unexpected results.

With the support of Maria Kowalski and Mário Lopes we will discover the possibilities of this approach that mixes sculpture and photography.
